North Fork Maternity Photography: Capturing Caralee and Roy's Journey from High School Sweethearts to Expecting Parents
As a North Fork maternity and family photographer, capturing moments that matter most is the essence of photography. Nothing feels more surreal than witnessing the milestones of those closest to your heart. This time, it was my first and very close childhood friend, Caralee, and her husband Roy, who are now expecting their first baby girl, Kit. Their adorable basset hound, Humphrey, joined the shoot with a charming bandana announcing, "Big Brother September 2024," and he certainly had a lot to say about no longer being the only child in the household!
We started our session at a mutual friend's home in New Suffolk, NY. The backyard, adorned with beautiful hydrangea bushes, provided a picturesque setting for this North Fork maternity photoshoot. Caralee and Roy began with a casual look, wearing jeans that added a laid-back vibe to the shoot. The couple then switched to a more formal ensemble, with Caralee in a stunning pink flowy dress and Roy in slacks and a polo, as we moved to Breakwater Beach in Mattituck. This local gem, with its big rocks and breathtaking sunset views, is one of my favorite spots for capturing love stories on the North Fork.
Sentimental Touches and Special Moments
Adding to the sentimental value of the shoot was the heart necklace that Roy gifted Caralee when they were just sixteen years old. Photographing this sweet and sentimental touch was incredibly special. Caralee also brought a handmade outfit from her recent trip to Greece, adding a unique and personal element to the session. Additionally, they brought their sonogram, a beautiful reminder of the new life they are eagerly anticipating.
Despite the windy day, Caraleeβs beautiful red hair blew gracefully in the breeze, creating some truly stunning photos. The clouds rolled in, but we were blessed with golden pink cotton candy skies just in time to capture the perfect moments before the rain started.
Reflecting on Friendship and Milestones
Seeing Caralee, the first of our friend group to have a baby, pregnant and glowing with joy was a surreal feeling. Our shared history made this session particularly special, and I think I can speak for everyone when I say how thrilled we all are for Caralee and Roy. Their journey from high school sweethearts to soon-to-be parents is a beautiful testament to their enduring love and commitment.
