Caralee and Royโ€™s Brecknock Hall Wedding in Greenport, NY.

There are weddings, and then there are weddings that feel like coming home. Caralee and Roy's special day was one of those rare gems that not only showcased the beauty of the North Fork but also brought me back to my roots in the most heartwarming way possible.

Caralee and I shared a childhood filled with shared memories, from preschool play dates to navigating the tumultuous waters of elementary school together. And as fate would have it, our paths converged once again when she reached out to me about photographing her wedding to her high school sweetheart, Roy.

Their wedding wasn't just a celebration of love; it was personal touches and heartfelt moments. From the thoughtful digital cameras gifted by Caralee's mom, Lynn, to the whimsical paper airplane seating chart paying homage to Roy's career as a pilot, every detail spoke volumes about the couple's journey together.

The setting for their intimate ceremony at Brecknock Hall in Greenport couldn't have been more perfect, nestled in the heart of the North Fork where our own stories began. Surrounded by a bridal party comprised of friends from our shared past, along with some of Caraleeโ€™s college friends, almost every face was a reminder of the bonds we've cherished over the years.

The delicious dinner was provided by East End Catering, courtesy of the owners of CJ's American Bar and Grill, added a deliciously nostalgic touch to the festivities. It was a meal for the senses, each bite infused with memories of my first summer job.

But what made Caralee and Roy's wedding truly special was the sense of community that permeated every moment. From the rehearsal dinner at Ellen's on Front to the after-party at Tap's and Cork in Southold, and even the impromptu beach day in the Hamptons with the bridal party, it was a weekend filled with laughter, love, and shared history.

From our initial meeting at North Fork Roasting Company to discuss their timeline, I had a feeling that Caralee and Roy's wedding would be nothing short of extraordinary. And true to form, it was a seamless affair, a testament to the couple's meticulous planning and unwavering love.

As a wedding photographer, I've had the privilege of capturing countless love stories, but Caralee and Roy's will always hold a special place in my heart. It was more than just a wedding; it was a homecoming. And for that, I am eternally grateful.
