A Photoshoot with Bachelorette, Jenn Tran in Miami, Florida
As a Florida-based wedding, fashion, and portrait photographer, I’m always on the lookout for unique locations that offer the perfect ambiance for my shoots. Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to work with Jenn Tran, one of my favorite contestants from Joey Graziadei’s season of The Bachelor. This session was even more special because it took place at the stunning La Maison Leaf in Miami, a Peerspace gem located in the heart of the Buena Vista neighborhood, just around the corner from Wynwood and the Design District.
The shoot was booked on a whim, just two days before it was scheduled. I was in a bind, needing a studio space last minute, and Peerspace came through for me. If you’re ever in need of a studio in a pinch, Peerspace is where it’s at. I was able to confirm the booking with La Maison Leaf the night before the shoot, and it was a huge relief. This space, with its warm, natural light and minimalistic Wabi Sabi style, provided the perfect backdrop for our session.
I first reached out to Jenn Tran back when she appeared on The Bachelor. I admired her grace, beauty, and how she carried herself on the show. Seeing her as one of the top contenders, especially as an Asian contestant, was huge for me personally. We had planned to shoot together in March after filming wrapped up, but life had other plans. Jenn got selected as the first Asian lead of The Bachelorette, which is an incredible milestone not just for her but for Asian representation in media.
As an Asian American business owner, growing up, it was rare to see Asian leads or even positive role models on TV. The few Asian American actors that did exist were often cast in stereotypical roles or as supporting characters. My journey to embracing my own culture has been both unique and deeply personal. Representation matters, and it’s something I’m deeply committed to bringing to the forefront through my lens. Whether it’s a wedding, a fashion shoot, or a portrait session, I approach each project with a perspective shaped by my heritage, aiming to reflect the rich tapestry of cultures that make up our world.
Jenn’s journey as the first Asian lead on The Bachelorette is a long-overdue step forward. This representation is so important for young kids and adults alike to see. Jenn was a joy to work with. She brought several outfits, starting with a stunning lace sheer gown from LEAU, a Los Angeles-based brand. We wrapped up the session with a gorgeous white strapless dress adorned with gold seashell designs from Tiger Mist. La Maison Leaf was the perfect space to bring these looks to life. The natural lighting, organic design, and carefully curated pieces, including vintage original oak flooring and lime wash paint, created an ideal setting. The backyard was intimate and inviting, providing us with even more beautiful shots.
As the season finale of The Bachelorette approaches, I can’t wait to see how Jenn’s love story unfolds. Working with her was a dream, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity. La Maison Leaf in Miami was the perfect location for our photoshoot, and Peerspace made the entire process seamless. If you’re ever in need of a last-minute studio space, I highly recommend checking them out. This session was truly one for the books, and I’m excited to share the final images!
