St. Augustine Elopement Inspiration: Kelvin and Opal
What a whirlwind wedding weekend Kelvin and Opal had! Their elopement in downtown St. Augustine was the highlight of an unforgettable adventure. After eloping, they moved across the country to San Diego the next day. Talk about a wild wedding weekend!
Stunning Bridal Details: Makeup, Gown, and Florals
Opal looked absolutely stunning, thanks to my amazingly talented and sweet friend, makeup artist Cathee Molina, who did her hair and makeup. Opal's look was nothing short of perfection, with every detail enhancing her natural beauty. She wore Valentino heels and a whimsical, unique gown from Watters Design, which she found at Anthropologie. The Willowby by Watters Matilda Tulle Convertible wedding gown was a showstopper. Its detachable skirt offered a high-low effect, and Opal chose to keep it on, which complemented the pearl pleated puff sleeves beautifully. The long sleeves, open back, and effortless elegance of the dress made Opal look like a dream.
Kelvin matched the light and airy vibe with a beige linen suit that perfectly complemented Opal's look. Their choice of attire set the tone for their romantic and intimate elopement.
Iconic Photography Locations in St. Augustine
We began the day by photographing on St. Augustine's historic Magnolia Street. This location, with its southern charm and classic Spanish moss-draped trees, provided shade and a romantic ambiance. The street, known for its 100-year-old oak trees forming a canopy overhead, offered a private oasis and is home to The Fountain of Youth.
Next, we headed to Aviles Street, another popular location for wedding photos. The cobblestone streets added a touch of old-world charm to their photos, and we captured some beautiful moments right outside St. Augustine's newest venue, 9 Aviles.
Our final stop was The Bridge of Lions at blue hour. This iconic spot provided a stunning backdrop with its majestic views and soft, romantic lighting.
Why Elope in St. Augustine?
Opting to elope in America's oldest city allowed Kelvin and Opal to take their time and enjoy numerous photo locations without feeling rushed. Eloping offers not only an affordable option but also a slower, more intimate day to spend together. St. Augustine has numerous restaurants, bars, and activities that are both kid-friendly and family-friendly, with the beach only a few miles away.
